Are you ready for this California? You now have one electric vehicle fast charging station for every five gas stations in the state, that’s huge. That means that there are now 105,000 public or shared electric vehicle charging stations as well as 500,00+ at-home chargers.
Supercharging California's Road To The Future
On April 27, 2024, California Governor Gavin Newsom paid a visit to a Tesla supercharger to discuss the state’s goal of creating the best charging network possible while highlighting Tesla’s recent commitment to opening its fast chargers for vehicles that are manufactured by the company.
A Major Impact on Emissions
Prior to Governor Newsom’s visit to a Tesla supercharger, the California Energy Commission approved an investment plan to the tune of $1.9 billion to push forward state’s electric vehicle (EV) charging and hydrogen refueling goals. This is on top of $1.8 billion already invested in the program which will make a major impact on the 40,000 new public EV chargers being laid out statewide along with the additional work on the zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) infrastructure across California.
