President Trump Signs Bill Making Animal Cruelty Abuse a Federal Felony

On Nov 25, President Trump signed a bipartisan bill into law that will make animal cruelty a federal felony.  It is called the ‘Prevent Animal Cruelty and Torture’ Act.  The bill will allow federal authorities to prosecute people who engage in any heinous form of animal abuse, especially ‘crushing’ where individuals maim and torture animals.  The PACT act was introduced by Sen. Pat Toomey, a Republican from Pennsylvania and Richard Blumenthal a Democrat from Connecticut.  It was unanimously passed in the Senate on Nov 5 and in the House on Oct 23.

During the signing President Trump said, “ We have a responsibility to honor the dignity of God’s creation. With today’s PACT, we take the critical step of being more responsible and humane stewards of our planet.”  In a response from the Humane Society, “ We now have a federal anti-cruelty statute that will allow us to crack down on some of the worst and most malicious acts of animal cruelty.  This is a historic day for animals. Thank you.”

Alongside the Humane Society, other groups such as Animal Wellness Action, and the National Sheriff’s Association all have endorsed the legislation.  This new law expands a 2010 law that bans the sale of videos depicting animal crushing.  It will ensure that individuals found guilty of torturing animals face felony charges, fines and up to seven years in prison.

Lockdown Lifted After Apparent Airspace Violation Causes DC Scare

Tuesday morning, the White House and the Capitol building were briefly put on lockdown after an unidentified aircraft violated restricted airspace over Washington.  The incident caused a ‘security situation’ as officers were warning people outside the facilities to stay away.  U.S. Secret Service told personnel at the White House to remain in place.  Minutes later, the lockdown was lifted and both locations were given an all-clear.

Capitol police sent notification of a potential threat just after 8:30 am.  Most people were allowed back in after 30 minutes.  Law enforcement told news sources, the lockdown was triggered after an aircraft moving east, violated restricted air space.

New Jersey ‘Swing District’ voters have now backed President Trump on impeachment, immigration and trade.  In a report from House Majority Forward, which is a democrat group associated with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the group says what they found could ‘spell danger’ for reps. Jeff Van Drew and Andy Kim both Democrat incumbents from New Jersey.  The report indicates they could be in danger of losing their next election.

This was a report on white college-educated and non-educated voters in New Jersey’s Second and Third Congressional Districts. The report showed that these voters felt since Trump is a businessman, unlike ‘ mostly useless’ politicians, they backed Trump and the Republican Party. They believed they were fighting to put the country first, by “ emphasizing pro-borders, pro-American jobs”, and they  ‘take care of us while Democrats are helping non-citizens’.

American Action Network spokesman Calvin Moore said in a statement, “ This is proof positive that the Democrats crusade to impeach Trump will have grave consequences for New Jersey Democrats.”  Michael McAdams, the spokesman for the National Republican Congressional Committee or NRCC, said: “ The findings by Nancy Pelosi’s dark money group, make it clear as day, with President Trump driving Republican turnout, Andy Kim and Jeff Van Drew are toast.”

‘An Affront To The Rule of Law’: DHS, ICE Leaders Highlight Dangers of Sanctuary Policies

Acting Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Acting Director of ICE, Matthew Albence, recently attended an event held in Raleigh, North Carolina to speak with local officials and law enforcement about immigration enforcement and to speak with people whose relatives have been killed at the hands of illegal aliens.  Local law enforcement officials in North Carolina have repeatedly refused to cooperate with federal immigration authorities. Democrat Sheriffs in the state have chosen not to honor ICE detainer requests and instead release criminal illegal aliens back into the community. An example of this is a Sheriff in Buncombe County who ignored an ICE detainer for an illegal alien convicted of sexually abusing an 11-year old girl.

ICE detainers are made by ICE agents to local authorities that have an illegal alien in their custody that is wanted for a crime. It is a request to detain a criminal until ICE can come to make an apprehension.  ICE revealed in September that in the fiscal year of 2019, North Carolina ignored a total of 489 detainer requests. Wolfe tweeted this after the meeting, “ Sanctuary city policies do not protect communities– they endanger them.  They are an affront to the rule of law, our Constitution, and they go against every instinct we have as law enforcement professionals.”  North Carolina Lt. Gov Dan Forest welcomes cooperation with federal authorities and said in a recent tweet, “ Ensuring the safety of our citizens is plain common sense.  These are heinous crimes we are talking about, not simple traffic violations.!”

Today’s quote is from  Sir Walter Scott,

“ Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive.”
