Minneapolis’ liberal Mayor trying to ‘bully’ President Trump out of Minnesota, says the head of police

Democratic Mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey is discriminating against Trump ahead of his upcoming rally at the Target Center on Thursday.  A police union leader, Lt. Bob Kroll said Tuesday on Fox & Friends, that the mayor is trying to ‘antagonize’ and ‘bully’ President Trump.  Kroll claims that Frey is using his office in an abuse of power by charging a $530,000 security fee to use the arena.  Kroll said, “ It’s disparate treatment, they have not charged nearly that much for other events.”

The dispute erupted after Mayor Frey announced there would be a new rule barring off-duty officers from appearing in uniform at political rallies. In response to the new rule, the police union created bright red T-shirts that say “ Cops for Trump” for the officers to wear. Kroll said in a public comment, “ In compliance with policy, we don’t want any issues so we just thought you should know we’ll turn the place into a sea of red shirts…and we can’t keep them on the shelves. They’ve been selling out as fast as they come in.”

Kroll also pointed out that under previous administrations the officers in Minneapolis were ordered to stand behind presidents, he called out the local politicians as ‘very left’.

School Improperly Implants Birth Control Device in Teen Without Parental Consent

A Baltimore mother was infuriated to learn her daughter received a birth control implant at school without her consent, says a report from ABC News.  Nicole Lambert reportedly took her daughter to a pediatrician for a check-up after her daughter complained of headaches and arm pain.  Upon examination, the pediatrician determined that her daughter’s ailments were caused by an improperly placed 3-year contraceptive chip that had traveled to the back of her arm from the inside of her upper arm.  The Dr. said the contraceptive would need to be removed to avoid more serious complications such as blood clots.

The mother said she was never made aware that the school had administered the birth control implant and stated that neither did the school ask her permission.  This incident has now raised concerns over the qualifications and training of school staff that administer these implants.  When the school was confronted with these concerns, they were redirected to the Baltimore Dept of Health which stated it could not respond to any of these questions because of a pending case already against the city.

Hong Kong Taxi Rams Into Pro-Democracy Protesters

A taxi driver reportedly rammed his vehicle into a crowd of protesters in Hong Kong on Sunday.  The crash then triggered a violent response from protesters.  Many videos that circulated across social media showed the taxi driving into a pedestrian walkway outside government offices. According to reports from The Hong Kong Free Press, the vehicle smashed into a storefront and injured at least one woman.  Following the crash, a large group of protesters surrounded the car and attacked the driver in retaliation.

The protests this Sunday were in response to Hong Kong’s CEO Carrie Lam’s decision to ban face masks.  Hong Kong has seen widespread political and civil unrest since early June when pro-democracy activists began taking to the streets to oppose an extradition bill that would have permitted criminal suspects to be sent to China for trial.

Today’s quote is from Thomas Paine

“ What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly; it is dearness only that gives everything its value.  Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods, and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as freedom should not be highly rated.”
