FBI Warns of Cyber Threat From China Threatening U.S. Security: Report

On Nov 5, the Senate Homeland Security Committee looked into major security threats facing the United States.  The FBI has now warned that China could threaten the economic and national security of the United States. FBI Director, Christopher Wray said about  China’s ex-pat recruitment plan or as it is called ‘The Thousand Talents Plan’, “ We see the Chinese government encouraging and assisting the abuse of incentive plans like the so-called Thousand Talents Program.” This ‘plan has raised concerns because of its role in the theft of U.S. intellectual property.

The U.S. based China Affairs commentator, Tang Jingyuan, had this comment, “Most of the recruits of the Thousand Talents Program are naturalized Americans, meaning that they betray their own country by stealing advanced and unique American technologies and giving them to China, a rival of the United States. Then they use these technologies in the Chinese industry and sell the products overseas.”  FBI Asst. Director, Bill Priestap told Senators he believes the cyber-espionage threat from China is “ the most severe counterintelligence threat facing our nation today.”

House Minority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy announced Friday that he has now appointed Rep. Jim Jordan, a Republican from Ohio, to the House Intelligence Committee amidst the Democrat’s continual partisan impeachment investigation into President Trump.  McCarthy said in a recent tweet, “ I am appointing Jim Jordan to the Intelligence Committee which has now become the impeachment committee-where he will continue fighting for fairness and truth.  Rep. Rick Crawford has been an exemplary member of the committee and will rejoin it when this Democrat charade is over.”

Jordan is a member of the House Oversight Committee as well as a member of the House Judiciary Committee. Jordan recently made headlines by vowing to subpoena the so-called “ whistleblower” for public testimony. Jordan is a strong voice for the Republicans and he has told fellow Republicans to provide a list of witnesses they wish to interview by Sunday. Jordan recently said on Fox & Friends, “ President Trump didn’t do anything wrong and what the Democrats are doing is partisan, unfair and frankly, ridiculous.”

In recent reports from the border, CBP agents assigned to the Del Rio sector near the Texas border, have disrupted seven separate human smuggling attempts and arrested illegal aliens from Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, and Honduras.  This resulted in the arrest of 11 human smugglers and 27 illegal aliens.  Those arrested face a maximum of 10 years in prison if convicted for attempting to smuggle foreigners into the country.

With the MPP or Migrant Protection Protocols that the administration implemented, or as it is called the ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy, the DHS said they now see a connection between the MPP and a declining number of apprehensions at the southern border.  According to a recent CBP report, there is a significant number of migrants without meritorious claims and that has been sent back to Mexico, which now has chosen to abandon their asylum claim. Some are now beginning to voluntarily return to their home countries.
