Professor Resigns Over Columbus University’s Trend Toward Communism

A  Romanian born professor at NY’s Columbia University recently resigned his tenured post.  Andrei Serban said de decided to abandon his job because various incidents he encountered convinced him that the prestigious school is “ on its way toward full-blown communism.” Serban is an award-winning film director who had previously fled his communist homeland and came to America to get away from communism.

Serban gave a few examples in an interview that explain why he decided to leave Columbia University. One reason he explained was the pressure he was under to admit a transgender applicant for the role of Juliet in Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet, even though Serban felt the person wasn’t right for the part.  Another was in a meeting with the dean of the art school. While discussing who would fill  a post that was being left vacant from a professor who was retiring the dean said that there were ‘ too many white heterosexual men.’ He said it would be best to hire a minority, woman or gay man instead.  When Serban asked if a white straight male could be chosen if he were the most qualified applicant, he was informed that it would definitely not be possible.  “I felt like I was living under communism again,” Serban said.

 

Oakland’s homeless stats soar as pressure grows from residents, businesses for a solution

In a recent report by Fox News, which is reporting on the severe homelessness crisis happening on the West Coast, where there is rampant drug addiction, skyrocketing rents, mental illness along with a lot of misguided government policies.  The title of the article is troubling in itself, “ Rise of the Zombies.”  The report centers in the city of Oakland, California whose homeless problem has become extreme due to the fact that busloads of homeless have been shipped to the city from San Francisco in recent years.  Now local business owners are blaming the city’s lack of response and slack law enforcement for putting them and their businesses in danger.

Some local business owners are beginning to come up with some extreme ideas of their own to help alleviate the crisis. One property dealer wanted to use a leaf-blower to blow $1,000 bills into the homeless camps as an incentive to leave, or putting a bunch on a party bus and leaving them in Mexico, all of which community activists put a stop to. One boutique shop owner described it like this, “ I am exposed to what I call the ‘Thriller’ video after hours- the zombies-I know that’s an awful term to use- but what I mean is that the freaks come out at night.”  When residents do call the police, according to the shop owner, 9 out of 10 times they say they if they aren’t harming you or your business, then we won’t come. People are instructed to file a report online or attend their local city council meetings and share your grievances.

 

Female MMA Fighter Pins Anti-Trump Protester at Flag Waving Rally

Female MMA fighter, Tara LaRosa had to subdue an anti-Trump supporter at a Veterans’ Day flag-waving rally in Portland, Or. on Sunday.  A small group of people wearing MAGA hats participated in a flag-waving ceremony honoring veterans at the 12th Ave. and I-84 overpass.  According to police reports a woman who said she was a professor at a local college confronted the group. Things soon escalated verbally to a physical altercation between the woman and one of the female flag wavers.  LaRosa, who was live-streaming the event decided to step in and break up the fight.

In a tweet by Portland journalist, Andy Ngo he said, “ At a flag-waving rally in Portland, Tara LaRosa says she had to take an anti-Trump protester to the ground after the woman allegedly attacked another woman. The group detained the self-described professor until the police came. LaRosa says the woman bit her chest causing an open wound.”  LaRosa said in a statement explaining her decision to intervene, “ I pulled her off using Jiujitsu techniques… I keep people safe, that’s what I do.”

 

San Francisco’s New DA:  Public Urination ‘Will Not Be Prosecuted’  

San Francisco has a new DA, Chesa Boudin.  Boudin declared his victory Saturday night after polls showed him winning a plurality of votes in the DA race. The new DA then announced that he would follow through on his campaign pledge to not prosecute public urination. He made this statement,  “We will not prosecute cases involving quality-of-life crimes. Crimes such as public camping, offering or soliciting sex, public urination, blocking a sidewalk, etc, should not and will not be prosecuted.”

This does seem like San Francisco’s ‘poop’  and homeless problems may now get worse. In an NBC  report on Boudin, it seems Boudin’s parents were both members of the Weatherman Underground domestic terror group. Boudin was raised in Chicago and was only a toddler when his parents both went to prison on murder charges.  There is one guy who is especially happy for Boudin’s DA victory and that is Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders who commented on Boudin”s victory, “ Now is the moment to fundamentally transform our racist and broken criminal justice system by ending mass incarceration, the failed war on drugs and the criminalization of poverty.”  Leaves one to wonder, how is this making lives better?
