Beijing’s Treatment of Hong Kong Displays Its Ambitions in Asia, Hawley Says

Senator Josh Hawley ( R-Mo), speaking from the Center for New American Security, called for a change in foreign policy in lieu of the new era competition with China.  Hawley said on Nov 17, that by looking at the situation in Hong Kong it shows Beijing’s real intentions for the Indo-Pacific region.  China wants to push the U.S. out of the region.  Hawley warned that U.S. foreign policy is inadequate to address what he says is ‘the danger at hand.’

Hawley, the youngest in the U.S. Senate, said: “ China’s bid for domination is the greatest security threat to this country, in this century and our foreign policy around the globe must be oriented to this challenge and focused principally on this threat.”  He went on to say, “ First Hong Kong, then Taiwan, then the whole region.”

Chinese domination is a direct threat to U.S. national security and prosperity says, Hawley.  The Senator did personally visit Hong Kong last month and spoke with activists on the street. He said, “ I do think that Hong Kong is the Berlin of this generation.”

Mexican cartels poisoning U.S. national parks through hidden pot-growing operations: Report

For years Mexican cartels have been carrying out hidden large scale pot-growing operations in National Parks throughout the state of California.  In a recent report by the Environmental Protection Agency, EPA, these pot-growing operations are poisoning water and wildlife through the use of illegal pesticides that are banned by the EPA.  Some of the stats and specifics of what these secret pot-grower operations are like were recently reported by NPR.

Two Mexican nationals and suspected cartel members were arrested in September in California’s Shasta-Trinity National Forest.  The authorities found; 8,656 live marijuana plants, 232 lbs of processed marijuana, 3,000 lbs of trash, discarded clothing, scattered propane tanks, empty cans of insecticide, 3 miles of plastic irrigation tubing and open bags of fertilizer.  The site is believed to have been in operation for years.  Kevin Mayer an enforcement officer with the Forest Service told NPR, “ The true crime here is the fact that they’re killing  America’s public lands, killing off wildlife, killing off our water.”  He also said, “ This is stuff that, you know, it’s not going to repair itself.”

TRUMP CAMPAIGN DEPLOYS WAR ROOM DEFENSE FOR IMPEACHMENT HEARINGS

While the Democrats prepare to premiere their big impeachment narrative, President Trump’s re-election campaign is preparing to take it all apart. There is now a  digital ‘Trump War Room’.  The room is in the President’s re-election campaign office where political veterans that are well trained and versed in the Democrat’s tactics are ramping up their battle station to defend the President.  One campaign source said, “ We’ve been through it before, we are old enough to remember when they were going to impeach the President over collusion with Russia.”

The digital war room has 16 staffers ready to respond to any attacks against the President.  They are ready for the fight and the White House has ‘bolstered’ its communications staff for the battle.  Former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi has joined the special operation to fight back against the media and Democratic narrative accusing President Trump.  The President said of Bondi, “I’d consider Pam Bondi for anything, in some form, I’d love to have her in the administration.”

Supreme Court Justices Appear Inclined to Allow Trump to Terminate DACA

It now appears that the Supreme Court justices are inclined to let President Trump terminate the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program or as it is called DACA.  The program shields hundreds of thousands of immigrants from deportation and allows them to receive work permits.  The Supreme Court heard arguments on Tuesday and at least 5 of the court’s conservatives seem to be backing Trump.

Back in 2017, President Trump said that he thought DACA should be done away with. The President said on Twitter, “ Many of the people in DACA, no longer very young, are far from angels. Some are very tough hardened criminals. President Obama said he had no legal right to sign the order but he would anyway. If Supreme Court remedies with overturning, a deal will be made with Dems for them to stay.”  The court ruling will also affect ‘Dreamers’ who were brought into the U.S. illegally as children.  The ruling will affect about 700,000 immigrants mainly from Mexico and Central America. The Supreme Court has yet to rule on the case.

Today’s quote is from George Washington’s ‘ Rules of Civility & Decent Behavior’,

Rule  12. “ Shake not the head, feet or legs.  Roll not the eyes, lift not one eyebrow higher than the other.  Wry not the mouth and bedew no man’s face with your spittle by approaching too near him when you speak.”
