Doug Schoen: Fourth Democratic Debate’s Big Winner, 2 Surprise  Showings and Biggest Losers

Tuesday night in Westerville, Ohio the most crowded Democratic debate thus far was held.  Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Mass. was the big winner, with Sen Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend, Indiana showing strong performances.  Former Vice President Joe Biden and eight other candidates were deemed ‘losers’  during the three hour Democratic Presidential debate.

Though Warren came under attack over health care and a wealth tax, she was sharp and well prepared to fend off attacks. According to a Fox News article, her strong performance will most likely ‘solidify her frontrunner status ahead of Biden and Sanders’.  Some of the ones considered losers, according to the Fox article was Joe Biden who ‘ was unable to break through and deliver a forceful showing’. Amy Klobuchar and Kamala Harris also did not have a strong performance. The others that made the list for being lackluster were; Gabbard, Castro, Booker, O’Rourke and Yang.

Felicity huffman Reports To Prison For Role in College Admissions Bribery Scandal

Actress Felicity Huffman, former star of Desperate Housewives, reported to a Northern California prison Tuesday to begin her 14-day jail sentence.  Huffman pleaded guilty to her participation in the college admissions scandal.  She will be serving her sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, California which is located about 25 miles southeast of Oakland.

Huffman was sentenced last month by Federal Judge Indira Talwani.  The actress was charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest service mail fraud. She was also sentenced to a year of supervised release and ordered to perform 250 hours of community service.  Ms. Huffman was accused of paying $ 15,000 in exchange for a specialized SAT proctor who would correct answers on her daughter’s test.  The actress was one of a slew of wealthy and well-connected parents who were caught up in the college bribery scandal.  There was a lot of backlash and criticism from the public who felt that Huffman’s 14-day jail sentence greatly differed from the sentences given to others who had committed lesser offenses.

‘Let Them Try and Call Me Racist:’  Indian-American Running For Senate Has Message For Democrats

Dr. Manny Sethi, is a Republican senatorial candidate who is the son of Indian immigrants. He and his family legally immigrated to America from India. The mother says she worked as a doctor for 25 years while living in Tennessee.  Sethi ran a TV ad for his campaign and it was aired during the Democratic Presidential Debate on Tuesday.  The ad attacked Democrats on immigration and warned that there would be an ‘invasion’ if they were to win in 2020.

The ad cautioned, “ We’re going to have an illegal immigration invasion if republicans don’t win in 2020.  The Democrats are going to give this country away.  That’s why I’m running.”  Sethi goes on to say, “Let them try and call me a racist.”  The advertisement was referring to the ongoing border crisis that is taking place now at the southern border of the U.S.  President Trump has attempted to crack down on illegal immigration but he has relentlessly been labelled a racist by the Democrats and other critics.  Minutes after the ad was aired, Democrat Rep. Pramila Jayapal, a fellow Indian-American responded that the ad was… racist.

Twitter users will be blocked from sharing tweets written by world leaders if post violate new rules- amid pressure to censor Trump

Twitter users will now be blocked from liking, retweeting or sharing tweets that come from world leaders if they are deemed to violate new twitter rules.  This announcement comes as new pressure is being put on censoring President Trump.  The social media giant announced it will now keep an offending tweet on the site if it is ‘newsworthy’ but it will be labeled and will not be able to be shared or spread further.

Since president trump was elected, Twitter has been under mounting pressure to censor the President’s tweets after some critics felt he was writing what they believed to be ‘threatening tweets’. This all comes amid a growing controversy that democrats like Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden are blasting Facebook and Twitter for allowing posts that they say contain false allegations. A recent Trump post that ran on Twitter and Youtube claimed Biden had promised Ukraine $ 1 billion if the country fired a prosecutor investigating a company linked to Biden’s son. In response to Biden’s claims and outrage over the ad, both Youtube and Twitter said that the Trump ad did not violate their policies.
