The Bolshevik Revolution and How Communism Got a Foothold in Our World

It’s been over a hundred years since the Bolshevik Revolution overthrew the Russian government in 1917. This week we have a special series about the Soviet Union, how the Soviets tried to replace traditional culture, and how it has impacted the rest of the world.

In order to understand how it has impacted us today, we have to go back to the beginning. On today’s show, we explain how the Bolsheviks took power in 1917. We also have a special interview with a woman who spent her formative years in the USSR. She shares some personal stories and how her understanding of her home country has undergone a dramatic change since moving to the United States in the 1990s.
