“The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg recently inquired with executive producer Brian Teta regarding a legal note indicating that Donald Trump has denied any misconduct concerning the 2020 election.

Goldberg expressed her curiosity about the necessity of such legal disclaimers. She went on to ask Teta whether the show is required to present denials on Trump’s behalf.

“I mean, this is what we have to do these legal notes each time to say what has been proven to be a fact. We have to deny it on their behalf, is that right?” Goldberg asked.

Teta explained that they must state the denials as provided by Trump.

“We have to state the denials that they’ve stated,” Teta answered, to which Goldberg said, “One day you’ll tell me why.”

The discussion followed a segment on the recent vice presidential debate, during which Sen. JD Vance avoided acknowledging Trump’s loss to President Biden in 2020.

Goldberg found it odd to present statements that are widely regarded to be untrue, while Teta reiterated that they were simply showing Trump’s official statements.

“No, no, not this. Because I find it odd when everybody has seen it and they know that it’s not necessarily the truth,” Goldberg said regarding Trump’s note.

“We’re showing what they’ve said on the record as their statement,” Teta concluded.
