A New Jersey principal lacking principle has angered residents by calling a pro-police flag “racist” in a move that, via guilt by association, likewise tars the students who innocently waved it. In fact, outraged local parent Brian Nashel appeared on Tucker Carlson Tonight last Friday, after having written a letter of complaint, to make this very point.
So far, 34 states have imposed mask mandates on their citizens. Or, put more properly, 34 state governors have usurped lawmaking power from their respective state legislators and have ruled as dictators how their citizens shall live. This is done under the guise of ensuring safety. Many of the face-mask orders contain language like that issued by Governor Laura Kelly in Kansas. There, among other things, she prefaced her mask diktat with a declaration that “securing the health, safety, and economic well-being of residents of the State of Kansas is this Administration’s top priority.”
Members of Louisville’s Cuban community gathered on August 2 at a rally in support of Fernando Martinez and other business owners who received a threatening letter from Black Lives Matter “activists.”
In what one local resident called “criminal extortion,” Black Lives Matter “activists” in Kentucky’s largest city have threatened businesses in its East Market District, also known as NuLu (New Louisville). Meet our demands for racial reparations, they warn, or we’ll tarnish you with bad online reviews.
The entire National Basketball Association — including every coach and referee — took a knee for "The Star Spangled Banner" on Thursday night as their season reopened in Orlando, Florida. Rather than stand up for the United States of America, the league instead chose to kneel in subservience to the neo-Marxist political organization Black Lives Matter.
Federal agents assigned to protect federal property against left-wing rioters and vandals are to begin a “phased withdrawal” from the city’s downtown beginning Thursday, according to Oregon’s Democratic Governor Kate Brown. In a statement, Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Chad Wolf said he and Brown together devised a plan to end “the violent activity in Portland directed at federal properties and law enforcement officers.”
The implicit bias of liberals is on full display at Rutgers University, where the English Department declared proper grammar to be “racist” and stated it was exemplary of “white supremacy.” The announcement prompted outcry from minority groups who recognized that the notion is discrminatory because it assumes that non-white students cannot be held to the same standards of writing as whites.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf on Sunday defended the federal government’s response to persistent rioting, vandalism, and violence in Portland, criticizing local leaders for continuing to refer to the instigators as “peaceful protesters.” During an appearance on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Features, Wolf said the protesters seen in Portland are different from the “normal criminal activity” witnessed in places such as Chicago and Kansas City.
Hundreds of Black Lives Matter protesters demonstrated outside the home of Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot on Thursday evening, calling for defunding the police even as Lightfoot’s administration carried out the removal of two Christopher Columbus statues that have been targeted by BLM agitators in recent days.
Labor unions recognized a prime opportunity to use the Black Lives Matter movement to increase their reach and push their agenda by teaming with a coalition of BLM groups to organize the July 20 Strike for Black Lives. On Monday, tens of thousands of workers nationwide walked off their jobs, purportedly as a show of solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, even while the strikers’ demands included a laundry list of union agenda items.
All eyes are on Chicago. In seeming response to criticism of policing from the city council’s Progressive Caucus, the Chicago Police Department on Monday released footage from a Friday protest-turned-riot in which violent agitators hurled projectiles and fireworks at officers protecting a statue of Christopher Columbus, resulting in 49 officers injured.
“Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!” Or maybe Bill de Blasio could just say, “What, me worry?” But what the former Sandinista supporter and now esteemed New York City mayor did say, on Wednesday, as Big Apple crime surges, is that “for seven years, we have made this city safer and safer.”
Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Chad Wolf accused Portland’s Democrat leadership of enabling the violent “mob” of rioters and looters that has assaulted federal buildings and kept the city in chaos over the last six weeks, posting a timeline that details the extensive damage “violent anarchists have caused.”
When Scott Rasmussen tried to explain the reasons behind Trump’s sudden jump in the polls among male voters, he suggested it was “a positive response … to the president’s speech at Mount Rushmore ….[with] many Republicans consider[ing] it a strong appeal to unity. The new numbers may also be partly in response … to media criticism of the president.”
Before our Black Lives Matter moment, one had not thought of the NBC networks as shot through with “systemic racism.” Yet, what other explanation is there for this week’s draconian personnel decision of NBCUniversal chairman Cesar Conde. According to Conde, the white share of NBC’s workforce, now 74% and divided evenly between men and women, will be chopped to 50%.
Black Lives Matter activists continued to reveal their true colors, even as the mainstream media persists in trying to paint the movement as a peaceful campaign for equality. Activists are now advocating for Americans, especially black Americans, to abstain from spending money on non-black-owned businesses.
It appears that Black Lives Matter activists have reached peak insanity. The latest from a member of the Marxist-controlled group that’s promoting violence across the country is this: Unlike Black Lives, mathematics don’t matter. The right answers when adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing aren’t really right — or wrong
In a new set of coronavirus guidelines, the California Department of Public Health requires houses of worship to end singing and chanting — and discourages church attendance in general. The guidelines were released at the beginning of July and warn that “convening in a congregational setting of multiple different households to practice a personal faith carries a relatively higher risk for widespread transmission of the COVID-19 virus, and may result in increased rates of infection, hospitalization, and death.”
One county sheriff in Florida has had enough of Black Lives Matter propaganda and the anti-police rhetoric being spouted by various members of the media. On Tuesday, Sheriff Daryl Daniels of Clay County, Florida, warned would-be rioters that he will make “special deputies of every lawful gun owner” in his county should he feel that protesters are becoming too much to handle.
Walmart has announced it will no longer sell products that feature the phrase “All Lives Matter” because, the retail giant claims, it minimizes “the focus on the painful reality of racial inequity.” In its announcement to indefinitely discontinue sales of all third-party merchandise with that particular language, Walmart claimed it “fundamentally” agreed with the sentiment, but wanted to be respectful of the sensitivities of the current climate.
It wasn’t a week ago that this site published the article “On Mob’s Side, Government Tells Citizens: You’re on Your Own — but Don’t DARE Defend Yourself.” It related the story of a Virginia mother and young child who, being attacked by a “protesting” mob, were told by a dispatcher there was nothing the police could do and that they should complain to city hall. And now, mere days later, comes the story of a husband and wife who defended themselves from a mob and now are fighting city hall — in fact, they may face criminal charges.
The group chanted “What do we want? Dead cops!” and advocates “disrupting the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement.” But that hasn’t stopped Senator Mike Braun (R-Ind.) from supporting Black Lives Matter and pandering to it by proposing a bill that would further handicap police, say critics.
The Boy Scouts of America is the latest organization to join the social-justice bandwagon sweeping the nation following the death of George Floyd, showing solidarity with Black Lives Matter (BLM) by unveiling a “diversity and inclusion” merit badge that will be required to attain the rank of Eagle Scout — BSA’s highest rank. Remember that BLM is a group that is pro-communist, anti-American, and anti-police. Just five years ago, its members marched chanting, “Pigs in a blanket. Fry like bacon!” It seems that to BSA police lives don't matter.
The next wave of Big Tech purges has arrived. Google cracked down on two right-of-center news and commentary outlets for allegedly racist coverage of the George Floyd riots this week, demonetizing the website ZeroHedge by banning it from the Google ad platform and threatening to do the same to The Federalist, prompting the latter to fall into compliance.
The Black Lives Matter "cancel culture," which says its critics are “racists” who must be fired, silenced, and hounded from public life, has at least one prominent opponent on the Left: Jonathan Turley, a law professor at George Washington University, says the campus Left is crushing dissent from ideological orthodoxy and threatening free speech and intellectual inquiry in academia.
The ironies of the so-called anti-racism protests across the country are legion. Black-owned businesses have been destroyed. Black people have been killed. And now a monument to a 19th-century abolitionist has been defaced. The statue of Matthias William Baldwin that has stood in front of Philadelphia’s City Hall since 1936, 30 years after its creation, was tagged with the words colonizer and murderer in the early days of the protests — probably Memorial Day weekend.
Black Lives Matter is coming to a public school near you. The national organization Black Lives Matter at School is seeking to foment a “new uprising for racial justice” by injecting Black Lives Matter’s “guiding principles” (including concepts such as “globalism,” “transgender affirming” and “queer affirming”) into school curriculums throughout the country.
Nigel Farage, leader of Britain’s Brexit Party, compared Black Lives Matter to the Taliban after the group tore down a statue of a local historical figure and vandalized several others. In Briston, U.K., on Sunday, vandals associated with the left-wing group brought down the statue of 17th-century parliamentarian and philanthropist Edward Colston due to his ties to slavery.
