As far back as 2011, The New American reported that U.S. environmental laws and regulations had closed down mining operations for “rare earth elements” (REE) in this country, making us almost completely dependent on the communist government of China, which then produced 97 percent of the world’s supply of these important minerals.
Is the European Union beginning to disintegrate? Spain has become the most recent nation to threaten a Brexit-style exit from the European Union amid anger over a European Court of Justice (ECJ) ruling last Thursday that a jailed Catalan separatist leader should not have been stripped of parliamentary immunity, overruling Spanish courts on the subject.
Florence Widdicombe, a six-year-old girl from Tooting, Southwest London, was writing Christmas cards to send to her friends when she made a startling discovery. Inside one of cards was the frightening message, “We are foreign prisoners in Shanghai Qingpu prison China. Forced to work against our will. Please help us and notify human rights organization.”
While Washington is focused on the impeachment proceedings, consumers are either online or at the mall doing their Christmas shopping. That’s almost all one needs to know about Donald Trump’s reelection chances next November. As the anti-Trump Washington Post painfully admitted, “Voters tend to base their vote on how the economy performed in the year leading up to the election.”
Following the House vote to pass two articles of impeachment on to the Senate for final adjudication, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi put a hold on the process: “We cannot name managers [to present our case to the Senate] until we see what the process is on the Senate side. So far, we haven’t seen anything that looks fair to us.”
“Mommy, they said that we're going to die in eight years.” That’s what Joylaea Blazevik, a distraught eight-year old, told her mother, Lejla Blazevik, following a presentation on global warming at her school, in Toronto, Canada. “They were terrified with the information,” Mrs. Blazevik told the National Post, a major Canadian newspaper.
Don’t try putting on a Drag Queen Story Hour in certain Polish towns — you’ll only get dragged away. In fact, more than 80 localities in the nation have explicitly declared themselves “LGBTQ-free zones,” raising sexual devolutionary ire to the point where the European Parliament has now condemned the declarations.
Poland may soon face a decision whether to obey the dictates of the European Union and cease to function as a truly independent nation, or follow the example of the United Kingdom and exit the European super-state. Politicians in Poland began discussing some changes in their laws concerning the Polish judiciary that are in conflict with those stipulated by the EU.
While the main topic of this posting is NATO, we want to point to the significance of Britain’s separation from the European Union. Brexit is important, not so much because of that nation’s departure and its effect on matters involving trade. The far more important consequence of Britain leaving the European Union is that the move establishes a brake on the steady drift of Europe into a European government supplanting the once sovereign states of Europe, followed by world government. With Britain leaving, other nations have begun to consider a similar path.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) struck down Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Tuesday after the Democrat leader wrote a letter Sunday evening in which he called for multiple new witnesses to be summoned before the body as part of its trial should the House vote to impeach President Trump.
“No one asked the people of the UK if we wanted our culture and way of life destroyed,” remarked British politician Janice Atkinson last year. Now her nation’s left-wing Labour Party has just been destroyed in the December 12th election because, as researcher Sumantra Maitra put it, the “woke” Left would not and will not “move right on culture and nationalism.”
The United Nations and the Socialist International are waging war against Chile and its conservative president, Sebastián Piñera. Since mid-October, Chile’s capital, Santiago, and other cities across the country have been wracked by violent riots, with dozens of people killed, thousands injured (including hundreds of police and military personnel), thousands arrested, and an enormous amount of destruction of public infrastructure and private property, including train stations, businesses, shops, and supermarkets. The Piñera government declared a state of emergency and imposed curfews.
The final report of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) on the alleged chemical attack by the Syrian government in Douma, Syria, in April 2018 was doctored to remove evidence that Syria did not carry out a chemical attack, according to documents released earlier this week by WikiLeaks.
Does the United States government already possess secret technology that makes science fiction a reality? Could fairly recent “UFO” videos, considered convincing by experts, be a glimpse into that technology? And despite this, could China be poised to overtake us in the space race and, ultimately, dominate the heavens and the Earth?
With former vice-president Joe Biden still maintaining a lead in many polls, some of the more “progressive” elements of the Democrat Party are dreaming of a scenario in which some combination of Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), two icons of the far left in America, would join forces to run as president and vice president against Donald Trump in November.
The United States expelled two Chinese Embassy officials after they drove onto Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek and Dam Neck Annex in Virginia Beach, home to Navy SEALs. The incident occurred in September, but news of it was just released in a report in the New York Times on December 15. The report, which cited anonymous officials, did not specify which area of the joint base the Chinese officials drove onto.
As CBS News was developing its complaint against Fidelity Investment’s charitable fund, it considered information gleaned from the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) as accurate. The gist of the complaint was that Fidelity shouldn’t allow its charity’s funds to go to “hate groups” on SPLC’s HateWatch list, which included the Family Research Council (FRC).
Fresh on the heels of a warning that the United Nations may use force against countries defying its climate-change mandates, the world body has just informed the United States that “it cannot avoid compensating poorer nations hit by climate change, despite Donald Trump honoring his election promise of leaving the 2015 Paris climate agreement,” reports Breitbart.
A civilization’s heroes are a window to its soul. Then again, when old statues and virtues come down and frivolous figures and vices are held up, some may suspect their land has lost its soul. A good example is teen Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg and her “sainting” by the Left, as theologian Fay Voshell puts it.
In this episode of Behind The Deep State, host Alex Newman gives you the true history of the Illuminati. Founded in 1776 by Adam Weishaupt, the secret society worked to infiltrate and hijack Freemasonry. The diabolical agenda was to overthrow Christianity and all the governments of Europe to create a "utopia" based on principles very similar to those espoused by Karl Marx and communists a century later. The bloody French Revolution was their first great success. All this and more in this episode of Behind The Deep State!
A “Satanic Temple” study group has been approved by top brass at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. But according to the Navy Times, while academy officials had provided the group with a room on campus for “study,” someone announced via e-mail that the group would be holding “satanic services” on campus, a revelation that prompted clarification from academy officials.
The rollout of 5G mobile communications as an upgrade to existing 4G networks promises to deliver a new era in data throughput and bandwidth, enabling new capabilities that will improve economic production, drive job growth, increase prosperity, and enable new, immersive entertainment possibilities. And that’s just a few of the many benefits that may be derived from 5G. But just like any technology, 5G can drive negative outcomes in addition to positive ones.
Representative Ilhan Omar’s troubles with the Federal Election Commission worsened last month. Now, aside from inquires she faces about her campaign’s payments to her boyfriend, the leftist congresswoman’s campaign is in trouble for hiding the details of contributions exceeding $200. The FEC sent notice to the campaign to compile and submit the information by December 26.
At the Red Pill Expo, Alex Newman had a chance to speak with the one and only General George Washington (professional reenactor) and asked him about his role in the founding of our Republic. Washington tells Alex that the two pillars this country was founded were morality and religion, and that there many men in our capitol today who want to see them removed. He also explains that for civilians to maintain our Republic , they must understand the “science” of government, i.e. the cause and effect.
In this interview, Alex Newman speaks with the co-founders of SPARK – Students Protecting All Rights for Kids. The three young men started their group in middle school as a result from political bias and bullying from their teachers. Their goal is fair education for all, and they have succeeded in having politically biased assignments thrown out of public schools.
MADRID — To deal with the alleged “climate emergency,” reducing the number of people on the planet is high on the agenda among activists and speakers at the United Nations COP25 “climate” summit. The growing extremism and even paranoia among population-control advocates, who worry that more people will release more CO2 into the atmosphere, is reaching deafening levels. But the establishment media is largely keeping silent.
Dr. Richard Ebeling, professor of economics at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, and my longtime friend and colleague, has written an important article, “Business Ethics and Morality of the Marketplace,” appearing in the American Institute for Economic Research. Its importance and timeliness is enhanced by so many of America’s youth, led by academic hacks, having fallen prey to the siren song of socialism.
The Democrats who are rushing to have the House of Representatives vote to impeach President Trump have several hurdles to contend traverse. For one, there are approximately 20 Democrat House members who won their seats in 2018 in districts won by Trump in 2016. Should they vote for impeachment, they can expect to face formidable Trump-favoring challengers on Election Day 2020. Obviously, they don’t want that.
On Tuesday in Mexico City, U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, Mexican Deputy Foreign Minister Jesús Seade Kuri, and Canadian Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland resigned the USMCA, which was amended by U.S. Democrats, shortly after Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats held a press conference on Capitol Hill praising the new changes to the agreement.
On Tuesday, the ExxonMobil Corporation came out victorious in a high-profile climate-change accounting case brought by the New York attorney general. Justice Barry Ostrager of the New York Supreme Court ruled that the company did not mislead investors about the potential costs of climate-change legislation and penalties that the oil company may have to pay in the future.
Former Vice President Joe Biden says his staff members did not tell him about the possible conflict of interest that involved him and his son, Hunter, vis-à-vis their dealings in Ukraine. But that revelation in Biden’s recent interview with National Public Radio is, in a sense, old news. The warning from a top official at State, ignored by Biden’s staff, went public some time ago.
There hasn’t been one in almost 70 years. But there’s a distinct possibility that 2020 will see a brokered (or “contested”) Democrat convention, a situation in which no candidate wins enough delegates to capture the nomination on the first vote, allowing the delegates to then vote for whomever they please. This could mean choosing an identity-politics candidate, the establishment’s Joe Biden, or someone who hasn’t even run in the primaries — such as Michelle Obama or Hillary Clinton.
MADRID -- At the request of the Canadian government, journalists from Canada's Rebel News were banned from United Nations summits--all for asking real questions. In this interview with The New American magazine from the UN "COP25" climate summit, Rebel News' Sheila Gunn Reid and Keean Bexte explain how it happened, and why. The incredible irony is that Keean is literally the only journalist on Earth to have confronted establishment-backed Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg with serious questions, while the thousands of establishment propagandists inside the summit act more like cheerleaders.
Once again, Congress failed to pass its budget before the end of the fiscal year on Sept. 30. It also failed to do this critical part of its job before the continuing resolution, or CR — which they enacted in September to fund the government — expired on Nov. 21. The sorry result is that Congress compelled itself to adopt yet another CR, one that will run through Dec. 20. If this tale sounds familiar and irresponsible, that's because it is.
The United Kingdom, Germany, and France have sent a letter to the United Nations alleging that the Islamic Republic of Iran is testing a missile “equipped with a maneuverable re-entry vehicle” capable of delivering a nuclear warhead on a distant target. If true, the action would violate a Security Council resolution on such activity.
Andrey Derkach, the Ukrainian parliamentarian who has claimed to have evidence showing that former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden received $900,000 in lobbying fees from Burisma Holdings, announced on Facebook Thursday that he met with President Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani (shown), to discuss the creation of a group to combat corruption in Ukraine.
The supreme court of world trade, otherwise known as the “appellate body” of the World Trade Organization, will cease functioning on Wednesday. The court is supposed to have seven members but it currently has four vacancies, with two more members retiring on Tuesday. That leaves one active judge, two short of the number required to rule on international trade disputes.
Noah Feldman, the Harvard Law School professor who served as one of the anti-Trump witnesses at the Democrats’ impeachment hearing in the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, reportedly has a key role in Facebook’s planned establishment of a content advisory board, commonly known as the “Facebook Supreme Court.”
A congressional delegation of Democrats at the United Nations COP25 "Climate" in Madrid is ignoring science and the ongoing U.S. withdrawal from the UN Paris Agreement. UN globalists are also exploiting children to advance their phony narrative. In this video, UN expert Debbie Bacigalupi and Wolfgang Muller with the European Institute for Climate and Energy (EIKE) provide a real-time update from the COP25 summit.
During a congressional trip to the United Nations 25th Conference of the Parties (COP25) on “climate change,” Democrats led by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.; shown) ignored reality and claimed the United States was still committed to the “climate” fight and the UN “Paris Agreement.” “We came here to say we’re still in,” Pelosi said at the UN summit in Madrid. However, in the real world, President Donald Trump, who ridiculed the man-made warming alarmism as a “hoax” to benefit Communist China, is still the president. And under his administration, the U.S. government is still in the process of leaving the controversial and illegitimate UN deal.
This year’s education scandal saw parents shelling out megabucks to gain college admittance for their children. Federal prosecutors have charged more than 50 people with participating in a scheme to get their children into colleges by cheating on entrance exams or bribing athletic coaches. They paid William Singer, a college-prep professional, more than $25 million to bribe coaches and university administrators and to change test scores on college admittance exams such as the SAT and ACT. As disgusting as this grossly dishonest behavior is, it is only the tiny tip of fraud in higher education.
In January 2019, President Donald Trump declared that America must “stop the endless wars.” And he announced that, in keeping with his campaign pledges, he would begin pulling U.S. forces out of Syria. Finally, in October, he began making good on the promise, only to be hammered by his usual critics in the media, the foreign policy establishment, and the War Party in Congress (the coalition of Democrats and Republicans who can be relied on to support U.S. involvement in any war, anywhere, any time).
The Trump administration has ordered National Park Service (NPS) rangers from around the country to travel to the U.S.-Mexican border to help fight illegal immigration and drug traffickers. Though this policy is not new, having been started last year, a recent investigative report from USA Today brought it to the forefront of the news again.
In this episode of Duke’s Take, Dr. Duke talks about the necessity of Thanksgiving. Progressives are attacking Thanksgiving because of its “questionable origins,” but Duke says that is irrelevant. Referencing Shakespeare’s King Lear, he explains that the Christian virtue of gratitude is necessary for civilization to survive. Today, U.S. students are being taught that being grateful for your country and culture is “toxic nationalism” and “white supremacy,” which is why millennials and Gen X’ers condemn “free speech” and support socialism. Duke asks, “How can you improve your country if you have nothing to be grateful for? You can’t – you can only destroy it.”
In this interview, Dr. Duke Pesta talks with JBS CEO Art Thompson about the origins and importance of Thanksgiving. Art explains that many people today do not grasp nor understand the real hardships the Pilgrims endured, why they were thankful, and how we still enjoy those freedoms 400 years later. Do we really enjoy the independence that we have? Are we grateful for the things that allow us to be free citizens?
Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg, 16, along with fellow activists Luisa Neubauer, 23, and Angela Valenzuela, 25, have penned an op-ed to coincide with the latest series of “climate strikes” and the United Nations’ COP25 climate-change conference in Madrid. In the op-ed, the climate warriors tacitly admit that the climate-change movement is about much more than the climate.
Believing your nation is illegitimate and perhaps should cease to exist shouldn’t be a résumé enhancer for a prospective leader. But presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg may disagree, as he recently expressed approval at the notion that the United States occupies stolen land — and that illegal aliens are merely exacting justice by “reclaiming” it. Moreover, Buttigieg actually asserted that illegals are “subsidizing everybody else.”
Rising anti-gun rhetoric from Democrat presidential hopefuls, and the entry of anti-gun Michael Bloomberg into the fray last week, has driven background checks to record levels, according to the FBI. The agency reported that it conducted 202,465 gun background checks on Black Friday, the second-highest number since the bureau implemented the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, or NICS. The record was recorded on Black Friday 2017 when the FBI ran 203,086 checks.
Students at Virginia’s venerable Washington and Lee University School of Law are demanding that they be allowed the option of receiving diplomas un-graced with images of the university’s namesakes, America’s first president, George Washington, who was an early financial backer of the university, and Confederate General Robert E. Lee, who served as president of the university from 1865 to 1870 (then called Washington College), and who is buried in a chapel on the campus of the school.
Americans have been led to believe that the so-called "intelligence" community exists to keep the country safe from Communists, Islamists, and other threats. Unfortunately, the reality is quite the opposite. The CIA has been filled with Deep State agents and even communists, including at the top, since the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) days. And during the Obama years, the mask dropped, with multiple U.S. government agencies making clear that the real target of these enormous and powerful bureaucracies is YOU. More recently, the Deep State-controlled "intelligence" community has been waging open warfare against their boss and commander-in-chief, duly elected U.S. President Donald Trump. These criminals must be exposed and held accountable as soon as possible if America is going to survive.
Two Democratic members of the House of Representatives, Collin Peterson of Minnesota and Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey, voted against a resolution passed on October 31 calling for an inquiry into the impeachment of President Trump. And — as was noted in an article posted by The New American on November 25 — “an increasing number of Democrats in swing districts are getting ‘cold feet’ about going through with an impeachment vote on President Donald Trump.”
“Christians are exclusionary,” is the common gripe, usually registered by those who’d exclude Christianity. “We need to govern the world with universal values,” is the appeal, usually issued by those who scoff at true universals. These ideas again came to the fore in a recent social media debate involving a man who, though enduring job termination due to political correctness, himself became politically correct.
A writ of habeas corpus — Latin for a judge’s order to produce “the body” (the accused) and release a person in jail who has neither been convicted of, nor even charged, with a crime — goes back many centuries. Noted English legal scholar William Blackstone cited its first usage as in 1305, during the reign of King Edward I.
When he was considering whether or not to sign two bills passed nearly unanimously by Congress strengthening a long-term trade agreement with Hong Kong dating back to 1992, President Trump admitted it was complicated. On Fox News he said, “Look, we have to stand with Hong Kong. But I’m also standing with President Xi. He’s a friend of mine. He’s an incredible guy.”
Back on September 16, we reported that the Trump administration had issued strong statements in response to the September 14 coordinated strikes on the world’s largest oil processing facility and a nearby oil field in Saudi Arabia. Soon after the strike, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo charged that Iran was behind what he called “an unprecedented attack on the world’s energy supply.”
RICHMOND — In the wake of the Democrat takeover of Virginia, the newly empowered Left is unapologetic about plans to disarm residents of the Old Dominion. Governor Ralph Northam — having previously failed to get any traction for his citizen-disarmament policies — now appears to see his way clear to implement them. But partisan victories do not necessarily equal a carte blanche mandate. Virginians across the state are prepared to resist his gun grab, and they have the law — and some in law enforcement — on their side.
Westbrook, Texas, has become the seventh sanctuary for unborn babies in the state after the town voted unanimously on the pro-life ordinance last week. Westbrook marks the first city in West Texas to declare itself a pro-life sanctuary, prompting abortion advocates to set their sights on the area, pro-lifers claim.
More than 100 years ago, the Carnegie Institute and members of the Rockefeller family set out to lower the population of the entire earth. Much of the work they financed operated under the name “eugenics,” a less-ghastly term for the various ways they suggested to reduce the number of people living on earth.
“There must certainly be a vast fund of stupidity in human nature, else men would not be caught as they are, a thousand times over, by the same snare; and while they yet remember their past misfortunes, go on to court and encourage the causes to which they were owing, and which will again produce them.”
Parents should be able to hand the government even more responsibility for raising their children, Democrat U.S. Senator Kamala Harris of California believes. To help make that a reality, she introduced an unconstitutional bill that would keep school doors open until 6:OO p.m. or later, as well as during the summer months.
Does a bad idea become a good idea by becoming an actualized idea and a legal reality? Syndicated columnist Michelle Malkin might ask this question about legal immigration, which she has proposed halting completely, at least for a time. Author of the new book Open Borders Inc.: Who's Funding America's Destruction? Malkin has also implored conservatives to move beyond “kindergarten” thinking on immigration and has warned of “diversity lottery” visas, which she calls “suicidal.”
The absolute worst case of professional incompetence and dishonesty is in the area of climate science. Tony Heller has exposed some of the egregious dishonesty of mainstream environmentalists in a video he’s titled “My Gift To Climate Alarmists.” Environmentalists and their political allies attribute the recent increase in deadly forest fires to global warming. However, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Forest Service, forest fires reached their peak in the 1930s and have declined by 80% since then.
Joe Biden’s bad luck, received a few days ago when Ukraine expanded its probe into Burisma Holdings, just got worse: U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has opened an investigation into Biden forcing Ukraine to fire its prosecutor general in 2016 as that top lawman looked into corruption at Burisma, which employed Biden’s son, Hunter.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was formally indicted on charges of accepting bribes, fraud, and breach of trust in connection with three separate scandals. The indictments on Thursday mark the first time in the 71-year history of the nation’s current incarnation that a sitting prime minister has been charged with a crime.
RICHMOND — Virginia, known — among other nicknames — as the birthplace of a nation, has a long history steeped in the pursuit of liberty. Now, with the results of recent elections, Virginia is in the hands of Democrats for the first time since 1993. In fact, Democrats now control both houses of the state legislature, the majority of Virginia’s seats in the U.S. Congress, and both seats in the U.S. Senate. This switch from Red to Blue is the result of years of work on the part of pro-Chinese communists and well-connected “fellow travelers.”
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported that on Wednesday it conducted “wide-scale” air strikes on Iranian targets inside of Syria. The air strikes were meant to both weaken antagonists and send a message to Iran and the Quds forces operating inside of Syria that attacks against Israel will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
The Trump administration’s pro-life “conscience” rule, which sought to protect medical professionals from being forced to perform abortions or make referrals for abortions, has been struck down for a third time, this time by a liberal federal judge in San Francisco. The latest ruling underscores once more the Left’s hypocrisy on the so-called right to choose.
Former National Security Advisor Fiona Hill, who testified in the impeachment inquiry into President Trump on Thursday, admitted to having worked with Christopher Steele, author of the Russia “dossier” commissioned by opposition research firm Fusion GPS and paid for by the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC).
The Fake News Media has been caught again with pants down. The Daily Caller broke the story on November 18, revealing that more than 250 U.S. news outlets and journalists had colluded in an effort to promote the idea that the planet faces a “climate crisis,” and to build support for the United Nations Climate Action Summit of world leaders held in New York City, September 15-23. Not that there was any paucity of lurid global warming propaganda; anyone who hasn’t assumed room temperature knows that we have been marinated in “news” stories proclaiming climate apocalypse for decades now.
The latest poll from Gallup shows Donald Trump to be impervious to the three-ring impeachment circus performing daily in Washington and being covered by a supportive media. As Gallup reported on Wednesday, “Despite days of focus by national and international news media on the impeachment proceedings currently underway in the House of Representatives, President Donald Trump’s job approval rating remains statistically similar to where it has been for weeks. [Our] latest poll failed to show a noticeable impact of the impeachment hearings in Congress on [his] presidential approval.”
The 10-candidate Democratic presidential debate held Wednesday night in Atlanta had two main points. The first was that President Donald Trump was a “pathological liar” and “corrupt” (Senator Bernie Sanders), and that “we have a criminal living in the White House” (Senator Kamala Harris). Harris even included Vice President Mike Pence in what she called a “criminal enterprise.”
In this episode of Behind The Deep State, host Alex Newman explains that the globalist establishment is working to impose a global currency issued by a global central bank on humanity. This would enable the Deep State to fund its totalitarian global designs, including a global army, a global police force, and global courts.
Another effort to warn U.S. citizens of the imminent and mounting threats to their sovereignty went largely unreported on Monday. A staff report from the U.S. Senate’s Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations entitled “Threats to the U.S. Research Enterprise: China’s Talent Recruitment Plans” should have been called “China’s plans to rule the World Through the Theft of U.S. Technology.”
A White House official filed a defamation lawsuit against Politico on Monday over the news outlet’s publishing of false reporting, which the official claims was done in concert with House Intelligence Committee Chair Representative Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), who is heading the Democrats’ impeachment inquiry against President Trump.
After reviewing various publicly available sources, three New York Times staff writers discovered that FedEx Corporation paid no income taxes in 2018. They also discovered that FedEx didn’t use the estimated $1.6 billion it saved in taxes to increase its investment in new equipment, reneging on an implied promise FedEx’s founder, Fred Smith, made when lobbying for Trump’s Tax Cut and Jobs Act.
Apparently, the effort to circumvent the Constitution’s Electoral College method of choosing the president of the United States through the “National Popular Vote,” is important enough to some liberals in California that they are willing to dump hundreds of thousands of dollars into a referendum on the subject in Colorado.
In an interview with The New American magazine's Alex Newman, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Alan Keyes warned that without a return to God, America was doomed. Speaking at the Red Pill Expo, he said the truth of the Bible is what underpins America and that without this foundation, all is lost.
The most recent analysis of poll data finds that Democrats are likely to turn out as the big losers in their impeachment gamble. Even as that analysis shows the impeachment machine is losing steam, President Trump’s approval ratings are gaining. As predicted, impeachment seems to be backfiring for Democrats.
Secretary of Defense Mark Esper said on November 17 that the United States and South Korea have indefinitely postponed a joint military exercise in an “act of goodwill” toward North Korea. Esper made the announcement during a joint news conference in Bangkok with Jeong Kyeong-doo, South Korea’s minister of national defense.
It is not unusual to come across materials bashing Millennials and Generation Z as selfish, spoiled, hyper-sensitive, etc. But how often do you see the Baby Boomers bashed? When this writer happened to come across A Generation of Sociopaths: How the Baby Boomers Betrayed America by Bruce Cannon Gibney while browsing through a bookstore, he did a double-take, and then purchased the book to see what Gibney had to say.
The final dramatic scene of Animal Farm has been playing in my brain for some time now. And daily, it seems, new events appear that show how prescient was George Orwell’s 1946 “fairy tale” — particularly as it relates to the ongoing convergence of the ruling elites of the communist/socialist world and their counterparts from the crony-capitalist world. For those who may have forgotten (or may have never read) this classic parable, it is about the animals on Manor Farm rising up and overthrowing the tyranny of Farmer Jones to establish Animal Farm, where “All men are enemies. All animals are comrades.”
Saudi Arabia’s “crown jewel” — Aramco, officially the Saudi Arabian Oil Company — announced on Sunday that it is only offering 1.5 percent of itself for sale in December, at a price far less than Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) had hoped for. And if things don’t meet even those minimum now greatly reduced expectations, the company could pull the offering before it goes public in December.
Here we go again. We’re approaching another deadline to pass a government spending bill or risk a government shutdown. Legislators routinely manufacture this sort of “crisis” to ram through provisions that wouldn’t survive scrutiny standing on their own. Congress is reportedly likely to push the budget deadline into December, but whenever the next full funding bill is finally taken up, there will inevitably be an effort to load it up with crony handouts.
On hearing the State Department’s George Kent and William Taylor describe President Donald Trump’s withholding of military aid to Ukraine. “One would think, listening to this,” writes Barbara Boland, the American Conservative columnist, “that the U.S. had always provided arms to Ukraine, and that Ukraine has relied on this aid for years. But this is untrue and the Washington blob knows this.” Indeed, Ukraine has never been a NATO ally or a “critical ally.”
Et tu, Drudge? This is an increasingly common conservative lament now that the Drudge Report, the leviathan of news aggregators, has turned left. In fact, it appears that Drudge is continuing to bleed conservative readers, with one observer likening its woes to the collapse of Enron Corporation, the once ballyhooed American energy, commodities, and services company that became immersed in scandal and declared bankruptcy in 2001.
Guarded in their speech as politicians tend to be, it’s rare when one tells you exactly what they believe. On Tuesday Senator Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) put into words what many of us already knew: that the climate hysteria movement is similar to a cult. Hirono told the gathered crowd that they should “believe in climate change as though it’s a religion.”
Dr. Carlos Casanova, a professor of philosophy of law at the Universidad Santo Tomás and the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, shares with The New American how the protesters, the Communist Party of Chile, and the Socialist Party of Chile are demanding a “constituent assembly,” on constitutional convention, to draft a new socialist constitution for Chile.
House Democrats are continuing to press forward with plans to impeach President Trump — pretending there is any merit whatsoever to their claims. While that is happening, more and more information is coming to light about the real criminal scandal at the foundation of their most recent claim regarding Trump’s July 25 phone call to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
When the American Institute of Biological Sciences (AISB) released its warning of a “climate emergency” last week, the mainstream media reported it without checking its veracity. After all, the AISB is a prestigious non-profit with goals that sound honorable. Headquartered in McLean, Virginia, it publishes a journal called BioScience which it claims contains nothing but peer-reviewed articles.
Amidst an explosive new wave of violent mass demonstrations on Tuesday, Chilean President Sebastián Piñera addressed the country in a televised speech from La Moneda Palace, which houses the office of the presidency. In a plea for national unity, Piñera vowed to make three major social agreements, one of which was a promise for a new constitution. He also opened the possibility of rehiring retired police officers to bring order to the streets.
It was about time that Boris Johnson got some good news for a change. Since the embattled prime minister entered number 10 Downing St. in July, it’s been one disaster after another. But on Monday, longtime rival and head of the new Brexit Party, Nigel Farage announced that his party would not contest seats held by the Conservative (Tory) Party in the upcoming snap general election on December 12.
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Representative Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), who is managing the campaign by House Democrats to impeach President Trump, warned members of his committee in a November 12 memorandum outlining the procedures for the impeachment hearings that attempts to reveal the name of the whistleblower whose allegations fueled the Democratic-led inquiry could be regarded as a violation of congressional ethics rules.
Having control of the media, academia, and entertainment, the Left has long been effective at giving the radical and new (or previously rejected) status-quo status. Enter Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.). Reacting to liberal establishment fears that her set’s socialist agitation is pulling the party too far left, she has claimed that it’s actually just a case of returning to Democrats’ historic roots.
